Hollideus XI: The Horrors of Halloween is supposed to be the eleventh in the Hollideus project's novel series. The novel has yet to be completed, and is still in a very early state, being worked on by voluntary members from the Hollideus team - the writers making sure to improve the contents of the 20 chapters in no particular order, while the artists add artwork to match the events happening in the story, as well as contributing with concept artwork of the featured characters, locations and objects.

Hollideus XI: The Horrors of Halloween is split up in many chapters, constantly switching between different sub-plots with different groups of characters, which are all connected somehow. The goal for the overall novel is for it to be both action-packed, humorous, dramatic and purely epic, with a detailed and informative writing and related quality art!

Hollideus XI: The Horrors of Halloween is based upon all the events which happened in the Kaelicious roleplay during The Mad King's Realm-event in November 2012, but with a huge improvement in the now much more advanced and detailed plot, and with a much larger cast of characters that are planned to also appear in future novels, in order to secure the continuity of the novel series. The novel focuses on the Easterland humans' struggle to defend their cities and villages from an approaching demon horde from Earth's Core, led by the recently coronated Idol of Halloween known as the Mad King. Meanwhile, Ael Cremm, a Prophet of the Shadow Cult, teaches his young female apprentice Mitsuki in the arts of dark magic. The Orc Am'ar Kardos and Minotaur Go'an Wise-horn journeys north looking for a brighter future in the continent of Hollideus. The Easterland Council member Vincent returns from an exploration tour in the Southern Continent, furious that his fellow council members have decided to oppose the demons, believing the Mad King's inevitable punishment will only be worse when he meets resistance.

The only sources of light in the ancient castle's huge empty dim hall were coming from high above the floor, sending a few rays of natural light through the patterned windows in the roof, yet those few rays of light were just enough as they successfully fell peacefully down upon the entire carpet of gray and yellow colors heading in a straight line from the closed entrance doors to the majestic platform at the other end of the hall. The atmosphere of the enormous silent hall had a magical cling to it. However, soon the silence was broken by a slow creaking sound as the beautifully decorated wooden swing doors at the room's only entrance were pushed gently apart from the outside.

A tall figure with a bald head and long pointy ears stood lonely and calm behind the widely opened wooden doors, his back bathed in the much more intense light from the other side, making his front facing the enormous quiet hall appear as nothing but a black silhouette. His entire long body was covered in a dark cape, and his grayish blue skin was only revealed on the top of his bald, wrinkled head. He moved one hand up to his face, and sipped once from the fine cup that he held with his long narrow blue fingers, then moved the cup a short distance away from his head, as if he was going to observe it closely.

"An amazing coffee..." he spoke with a satisfied old voice wrapped in a wise accent, and added "Gotta give it to the mortals. There is no coffee that can match theirs. Mmh.."

Then he proceeded to move into the more comfortably dim light inside the hall, and begun the long walk across the gray carpet, heading straight for where the rays of light were the most intense in the room - the round platform where the carpet folded itself matching the few steps up the short staircase. The blue-skinned man was clearly not in a rush, as his tall body moved with short and calm steps, with his long dark cape sweeping the gray carpet behind him.

"Now, where were we?" he asked himself as he continued the walk, although he obviously already knew the answer to his own question.

"Oh, right - October went as usual, with the cat-people from Cartellaña celebrating with enormous amounts of alcohol, and of course.. the demons from Earth's Core fighting amongst themselves, in order to find the best possible candidate to lead them in the upcoming trick-or-treating season. Of course all the struggle ended up with little to no change in their ranks. After all, there has never been any demon more competent than the Mad King to bear the role as Idol of Halloween..." he spoke, although no one was there to listen but himself. He had finally reached the staircase to the platform, and stopped up to take another sip of his coffee before moving up into the intense light that fell upon this particular spot.

After passing the final step, and walking onto the circular platform, which was surrounded by smooth handrails as colorless as the rest of the hall, the old man stopped up once again, this time sighing, as he looked forward on the marble pedestal before him. On top of it was a huge sacred book, known only by a small group of hand-selected people, as the Book of Destiny. Viu Laehon, the old blue-skinned man standing in front of it, was the most prominent of those hand-selected people.

"Guess it makes it that time of year then - November, month of the demons' favorite holiday... It is not hard to foresee what is going to happen, really" Viu Laehon spoke with an old tired voice, while he opened up the Book of Destiny, and flipped through the many pages stuffed with long paragraphs of tiny letters. Together, the book's seemingly endless amount of paragraphs described every past event that had happened in the world's long wartorn history. Halfway into the huge book, he finally reached the page where the highly descriptive text suddenly ended, and met the blankness which lasted throughout the remaining many pages until the books' very last page.

Viu Laehon placed his cup of coffee next to the widely opened Book of Destiny. Except for the book and the cup, there was only one other thing on the fine pedestal - a small round glass jar filled with pitch-black ink. Viu Laehon's long narrow fingers reached in behind his dark cape, and when he pulled back out his hand he held a long beautiful black feather in it. Then he dipped it in the jar of ink, and moved back his attention to the book. It was his job to make sure that destiny was unfolding itself naturally, and this magical book was all he required to be able to do so.

On a blank spot he wrote a new title "The Horrors of Halloween" with a beautiful handwriting. He looked at his work for a while before finally picking back up the cup of coffee.

"Now, let's be patient while the destiny unfolds itself" he spoke, before turning around, and leaving the platform, walking back the way he came from, as he had done thousands times before. Behind him, the magic had already started. Below his newly added title, tiny words started to form themselves.

The Horrors of Halloween had begun already...

They discuss their critical situation because of November having begun, and an upcoming visit from the Hell demons and their Idol of Halloween. Should they choose trick or treat this year?

Kari says that he has prepared an unbreakable defense and gets the others to accept his proposal. The Paladin Chapel will be the location for training units for the war.

This enlightens his mood a bit, actually so much that he decides to take her for a long trip outside in the open. They go to a cliff in order to observe the humans preparing for a battle with the demons at the "Gryphon's Arch" Paladin Chapel. Ael Cremm seems to find this very interesting and unusual.

The young Mitsuki asks if she can please go try out some of the dark spells that he have taught her, but he strictly replies that the Hour of the Almighty Darkness is not yet, and that they should keep a low profile until then. However, while he speaks, Mitsuki goes to kill some gryphons without Cremm noticing. She returns just in time to hear him saying that he knows a place she can try some of her spells. Am'ar does not intend to show mercy, but Go'an makes the Orc stop, whereafter he orders the goblin to show them the way to that city in the north that he just spoke about. Go'an remembers his fathers' words that they needed to go to a place where white sand falls from a dark sky.

This Kanta Sauce sounded like the exact person that they needed. They decide to go north to his workshop in the cold Valley of Christmas and seek out the Idol, once the bar had arrived in the next village...
